The Nebraska Athletic Club now offers strength and endurance
training with Russian Kettlebells!
What is a Kettlebell?
A 'kettlebell' or girya (Russ.) is a traditional Russian cast iron weight that looks like a cannonball with a handle. The ultimate tool for extreme all-round fitness.
The kettlebell goes way back, it first appeared in a Russian dictionary in 1704.
A strongman or weightlifter was referred to as a girevik, or 'a kettlebell man'.
Kettlebells come in 'poods'. A pood is an old Russian measure of weight, which equals 16kg, or roughly 35 lbs. An average man should start with a 35-pounder. It does not sound like a lot but believe it; it feels a lot heavier than it should!
An average woman should start with an 18-pounder.
Why is the kettlebell workout the ultimate workout?
- Accelerates the development of all-purpose strength—to easily handle the toughest and most unexpected demands
- Boosts your physical resilience
- Builds your staying power—because the last round decides all
- Ensures the correct blend of strength with flexibility
Hacks your fat off—without the dishonor of dieting and aerobics
Kettlebells deliver extreme all-round fitness. And no single other tool does it better.
A Russian Kettlebell workout can replace:
barbells, dumbbells, belts for weighted pull-ups and dips, thick bars, lever bars, medicine balls, grip devices, and cardio equipment.
This is why the kettlebell dominates other exercise equipment.
The kettlebell is the definitive tool for developing the hip thrust, the power generator in all athletics.
It will make your back resilient and condition it from every conceivable angle, statically and dynamically.
Kettlebell's offset center of gravity maximizes shoulder strength, flexibility, and health.
They are an outstanding grip, wrist, and forearm developer.
The Russian Kettlebell is a complete, no-compromise, extreme hand held gym.
